The crater at the summit is a highlight, a small lake nestled among the rocks. The hike is less strenuous than Sabinyo, making it a good choice for those with less time or less fitness.
Mount Muhavura: At 4,127 meters, Mount Muhavura is the highest of the three volcanoes. The hike to the summit is challenging, taking about eight to ten hours round trip. The trail climbs steeply through bamboo forest, heathland, and finally rocky slopes. The summit offers stunning views of the Virunga Mountains, Lake Edward, and the Rwenzori Mountains on a clear day.
